Super Bowl Sunday Snack Attack: The Most Epic Deviled Eggs You’ll Ever Make
Super Bowl Sunday is almost here, and you know what that means: food, friends, and football (in no particular order)! But with all the excitement, it can be easy to forget about the appetizers. Fear not, party people, because I’m bringing you the ultimate Super Bowl snack: deviled eggs.
These aren’t your grandma’s deviled eggs, though. We’re talking flavor bombs that will have your guests cheering louder than for their favorite team. So, grab your mixing bowl, let’s get cookin’!
Ingredients:
- 1 dozen large eggs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional toppings:
- Chopped bacon
- Chives
- Fresh dill
- Sriracha
- Smoked paprika
Instructions:
Hard-boil the eggs:
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- Gently lower the eggs into the boiling water using a slotted spoon.
- For perfectly hard-boiled eggs: Cover the pot, remove from heat, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.
- For creamy yolks: Cover the pot, remove from heat, and let the eggs sit for 7 minutes.
- Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Once cool, peel the eggs.
Make the filling:
- Cut the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks to a medium bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth.
- Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the yolks.
- Mix until well combined and creamy. You can adjust the amount of mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar to your taste.
Fill the egg whites:
- Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill the egg white halves with the yolk mixture.
- Garnish with your favorite toppings, such as chopped bacon, chives, fresh dill, sriracha, or smoked paprika.
Tips:
- For easy peeling, add a teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water.
- If your eggs are hard to peel, try running them under cold water and gently cracking the shells all over.
- Don’t overmix the yolk mixture, or it will become dry.
- If you don’t have Dijon mustard, you can use yellow mustard instead.
- Get creative with your toppings! The possibilities are endless.
Serve and enjoy!
Your deviled eggs will be the star of the Super Bowl party! Watch them disappear faster than a Hail Mary touchdown. And don’t forget to high-five yourself for making such an amazing appetizer.
Bonus: Make a deviled egg bar! Set out all the ingredients and toppings and let your guests create their own custom deviled eggs. It’s a fun and interactive way to get everyone involved.
